Christel Jedlicka
Hi, I’m Christel, the owner and potter at Adora Arts. I have always had a love for creating with my hands. Once I sat down at a pottery wheel, I was hooked. I quickly developed a passion for working with clay.
My grandmother worked with ceramics when I was a young girl. Growing up, I remember watching her glaze and create such beautiful pieces. The magic of the transformation inside the kiln mesmerized me.
When I started my own studio, my aunt gave me the kiln that had been sitting in her storage for years, the same one my grandmother used. I refurbished her kiln, bringing it back to life so it could fire clay again. The same kiln my grandmother used is the one that every piece in my shop comes out of.
Each piece is thrown on the wheel, trimmed, glazed, and fired in my studio. Because everything is handmade, each piece will have variations in glaze or shape. It means what you’re holding was made just once, by hand. Thank you for supporting small and handmade artistry. I hope these pieces bring a little warmth and whimsy to your everyday life.
